Speaker A Sheila Dean, Director of People Fit Australasia I've been working in my own business with Barry for the last ten years, came across Elliot Jacques and his work as an employee of CRA some 20 years ago and worked with his principles and systems in the organization for 15 years.

Speaker B And I'm Barry Dean. I'm also a director of people. Kit Australasia. My background is engineering from a long time ago and then management in the mining industry, mostly in the technical area, but later in executive development. And we got interested, or I got interested in Elliot Jack's work probably around about 1981 and then was raised as a manager in CRA with those practices and principles. I worked with a Smelting company whose organization was reviewed through the Ro Methodology in the early 80s. So I became aware of it very early on and then through moves, my moving through the group came across it in various ways in other business units. Later as a more senior manager, as I rose through the ranks, so to speak, I was invited to also help the education of requisite organization leadership principles in the group education system. That was my Sunday job.

Speaker A I worked in an engineering business unit of CRA and I worked directly with the design of systems, the People Systems S and help managers implement them in the organization. And I also managed the whole training effort within the organization. So it was very much about bringing managers to the principals and then helping them implement.
