Let's Get Organized!
A Five-day Introductory Workshop in Integrated Organization Design and Management based on principles of accountability, levels of work, and levels of human capability
Monday through Friday noon, June ??, 2009
8:00am to 5:00pm
BMO Financial Group Institute for Learning
Toronto, Ontario, Canada
Many of today's experienced RO practitioners learned the ropes by working in organizations with well-designed and executed RO projects. They benefited from committed project sponsors and champions, qualified external consultants and significant investment in RO training programs. Some companies send managers to public workshops for formal RO training when available.
There are relatively few public workshops to provide learning opportunities for those not lucky enough to be in well-designed and funded RO projects.
The GO Society is proud to present opportunities to learn from experienced ex-line managers and management consultants who have worked with global companies in implementing this well-researched system of management and organization design.
Business leaders' interest in Requisite Organization (RO) is well supported by:
- The successful application of RO in a significant number of major organizations around the world; Click here for a sampling of RO case studies
- The documented personal experience of a number of reputable senior business leaders; Click here to explore their articles and publications
- The compelling published works of Lord Wilfred Brown, Elliott Jaques and many others; Click here for a sampling of many important digitized RO works donated to the GO Digital Library
- The breadth and depth of academic research validating and elaborating the 'body of knowledge' now known as RO; Click here to peruse the academic theses & papers shared with the GO Society
Perception of wide-spread failure of current organization design and management practices causing unrealized employee productivity, significant waste, unnecessary re-work, unrealized plan objectives, poor customer relationships etc.
These outcomes often go hand-in-hand with absenteeism, internal 'silo' behaviours, adversarial working relationships, union-management conflict, work-related stress, and counter-productive bonus-chasing behavior.
Business leaders and the managers they employ occupy a world of immediate cause and effect. They may not always have the right explanation for the causes and effects, but nonetheless they make judgments every day and they enjoy or suffer the consequences of those judgments. In many cases the results can be dramatic.
An experienced manager's point-of-view (i.e. context) becomes set apart from that of non-managers through his/her feelings of accountability for the performance of others. This is the context that we must respect, engage and understand intimately in order to achieve the promise of workplace improvement and reform through RO-based initiatives.
During the past seven years, Peoplefit Australasia has developed a business and manager-centric 'Leadership Framework-based' organization reform approach that:
- Uses a customized Leadership Framework of principles and tools for enabling managers to understand the core concepts and to apply them immediately in their business;
- Enables CEOs and senior managers to confidently evaluate the effectiveness of their organization and its leadership (i.e. its ability to execute);
- Enables CEOs and senior managers to initiate business-focused, Framework-based improvements and to measure the impact of those improvements;
- Eliminates consultant-led training;
- Leverages the line manager pool in delivering program knowledge and reform-based performance expectations.
